The way it works now
A spreadsheet only one person knows how to use.
Every hardscaper has one. Tabs for base, edging and labor, a formula somebody broke two seasons ago, and a price for pavers that was right before the last supplier increase.
- Evenings spent estimating instead of selling
- A margin you discover after the job is finished
- Material prices updated in one place and not the other three
Price the job the way you buy the job.
-
Your own units
Square feet, tons, pallets, bags, linear feet, crew hours and equipment days. Not one generic quantity column.
-
A price book you control
Your real material costs and labor rates, updated once and applied to everything you build after.
-
Every cost category
Materials, labor, equipment, subcontractors, permits and disposal, each with its own markup.
-
Templates per job type
Start a 600 square foot patio from a template that already knows the base depth, the sand and the crew hours.
-
Margin while you type
Gross margin moves as you adjust quantities, so you see the profit before the client sees the price.
-
One click to a proposal
The finished estimate becomes a branded proposal without retyping a single line.
How it works
Four steps, start to finish.
- 1
Measure the space
Square footage, linear feet of edging, and the compacted depth of the base.
- 2
Pull in the line items
Start from a template or your price book. Quantities come off the measurements.
- 3
Check the margin
Adjust labor hours or material grade until the margin is where you want it.
- 4
Send it the same day
Convert to a proposal and get it in front of the homeowner while the visit is still fresh.
It already knows what a pallet of pavers is.
Generic estimating tools make you invent your own units and your own math. This one speaks in tons of base, pallets of pavers, bags of polymeric sand and days on a mini excavator.
- Base depth and compaction factored into tonnage
- Waste and cut allowance set per material
- Equipment day rates for excavators, compactors and dump trailers
- Subcontractor line items for drainage, electrical and gas
Questions contractors ask
Something not covered here? Talk to our team.
Can I estimate by square foot and by ton on the same job?
Yes. Each line item carries its own unit. A 620 square foot patio can price pavers per square foot, base per ton, joint sand per bag and excavation per hour, all on one estimate.
Can I use my own material prices and labor rates?
The price book is yours. Enter your real supplier costs and burdened labor rates, set the markup per category, and every new estimate uses them. Update a price once and it applies going forward.
Does it calculate base material tonnage?
You enter the area and the compacted depth and the line item carries the tonnage with your own waste allowance. The math stays visible, so you can override it on a job with unusual conditions.
How long does a paver patio estimate take?
Contractors who have built out their templates put a standard patio together in a few minutes. The first one takes longer, because you are setting up the price book at the same time.
Can I see my profit margin before sending the estimate?
Gross margin updates as you edit quantities and rates, so you know what the job makes before anyone sees a number. After the job, job costing compares that estimate against what it actually cost.
